PLANTIN AS PUBLISHER OF MEDICAL WORK
24 April 2014 - 24 April 2016
Christoffel Plantin published in 1566 in Antwerp the Vivae imagines corporis humani written by the Spanish doctor Juan Valverda. This book is illustrated with engravings based on the original woodcuts of the anatomical work of Andreas Vesalius. Anatomy dissected is part of the Vesalius Year and it is a first step in the development of the new Museum Plantin-Moretus permanent exhibition, which will be launched in 2016.
